A new gang of illegal Salvadorean youths called Calle Rojo has been establishing itself in Jackson, Wyoming. To become a member a candidate is assigned a prominent fly fishing guide to murder whie float fishing on a river. The first occurs on the Snake River where the candidate drives a machete through the heart of guide Janice Whittaker, paints the letters CR in her blood on the inside of the drift boat, severs her hand, and flees.Lucinda and Macduff are at their Florida cottage south of St. Augustine. When they learn of the murder that have to consider whether Macduff will cancel all or some of his scheduled guiding trips during the soon to begin season. It’s not long before they become even more involved.They decide to go to Hope Town in the Bahamas for Macduff’s birthday, avoiding Reginald Covington, who long ago with now deceased Robert Ellsworth-Kent, onetime husband of two months of Lucinda, kept her hostage for eighteen months. They learn astounding changes have happened to Covington and to his former plaything, Candi Treat, who is really Jennifer French, These events further complicate Macduff’s and Lucinda’s future.The Calle Rojo gang begins to encroach upon the Bandits motorcycle gang in Livingston, Montana, leading to direct conflict between the two groups.
